Privacy Policy

In short

Your expenses, receipt images and learned category rules are stored on your phone only. We have no user accounts and no expense database; you don't need to register or connect a bank to use the app.

The only things that leave your phone are the receipt photo sent to be read and your category names, which the reader uses to pick a category. You can turn this off under Settings → Receipt Reading; with it off, reading happens entirely on your device and no image ever leaves it.

What we process

The receipt photo. When cloud analysis is on, the photo you take is sent to the Google Gemini API to be read and turned into fields. It does not go there directly but through our own server at receiptic.app, for one reason only: so the API key isn't shipped inside the app. Our server only relays it — it does not write it to disk, store it or log it.

The only thing kept on our server. To prevent abuse we keep daily request counters: how many receipts were read that day and an irreversible digest of the IP address. No photo, amount, merchant name or identifying data is included; these counters are deleted after 30 days.

Your expense records. Amount, date, merchant name, category, line items and receipt images are held in your device's own storage. They are not sent to us.

Identifying data. We collect no name, email, phone number, location or advertising identifier. We use no analytics tools and no tracking technology.

Sensitive information on receipts

Some receipts print a masked card number, a transaction code or details relating to your name. With cloud reading on, this information is sent as part of the photo. If you don't want that, turn cloud reading off.

Purchases

Subscriptions and purchases go through Apple. We never see, store or process payment information.

Exercising your rights

Because all the data is yours, so is deletion: Settings → Delete All Data permanently removes your expenses, receipt images and learned rules. Removing the app has the same effect.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
